Understand what Dalfin Genesis does, how business applications are engineered and how to begin a scoped engagement.
Welcome to Dalfin Genesis
Build the applications your organisation needs. Keep the context behind them.
Genesis is Dalfin AI's AI-assisted enterprise application engineering platform. It helps organisations turn business requirements, process descriptions, existing documents, designs and solution blueprints into applications that can be reviewed, tested, deployed and improved over time.
Genesis is intended for applications with real operating requirements: business rules, responsibilities, approvals, data, interfaces and connections to other systems. The work is guided by a defined scope and by decisions made with the people who understand the business.
This guide explains the public-facing Genesis approach. It is not an operating manual or a promise that any particular feature, integration or deployment is available without assessment.
Start with the business problem
You do not need to begin with a complete software specification. Useful starting material may include:
- A description of the business problem and the outcome you need.
- Documents describing processes, rules, forms, controls or existing operations.
- Spreadsheets, sample structures or reports that illustrate the information involved.
- Screenshots, sketches, wireframes or design references.
- The nearest enterprise solution blueprint (opens in a new tab), together with instructions describing how your organisation differs.
Missing requirements and assumptions still need to be resolved. A useful starting point is not the same as an approved production specification.
The Genesis journey at a glance
- Define the need. Supply requirements or select a blueprint and describe the changes you want.
- Confirm the decisions. Review workflows, rules, users, data, permissions and exceptions.
- Engineer the application. Work within the agreed scope to create the application components.
- Review and validate. Examine results, test important scenarios and resolve outstanding issues.
- Deploy and evolve. Release through the agreed process and use preserved context to guide later changes.
What an application may include
Depending on its approved requirements, an application may include desktop and mobile interfaces, backend services, data structures, business workflows, approval rules, role-based access, reporting and integrations. The final capabilities and acceptance criteria are agreed for each build.
Genesis does not replace the customer's responsibility to confirm business rules, operating decisions or acceptance of the result. It does not turn every catalogue entry into a production system automatically.
Build with the support your team needs
- Customer led: Your technical team leads the agreed engineering and validation work using Genesis.
- Assisted: Your team and Dalfin AI share clearly defined responsibilities.
- Dalfin delivered: Dalfin AI leads the agreed delivery programme, with your business owners responsible for requirements and acceptance decisions.
Applications continue to evolve
Business applications change as processes, people, rules and connected systems change. Genesis Context Memory retains relevant engineering context and accepted decisions to help guide those changes. The ongoing Connected service has an agreed scope; Genesis-assisted application generation and customisation use AI Engineering Units (AEU) according to the scope and complexity of the work.

What customers receive
Customers own the agreed application source and deliverables created for their organisation, while Genesis, Context Memory and reusable shared platform technology remain Dalfin AI intellectual property. Applications retain the agreed connections to Genesis services they depend on. Hosting, handover, access and ongoing responsibilities are set out in the engagement arrangements.
